Frank Dean Fergason was born March 11th, 1936 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Hubert Oliver and Velma Gladys (Sherbourne) Fergason. When he was a few months old, Hubert and Velma moved to California due to the effects of the Great Depression. Later, the family moved back to Oklahoma; Frank is the eldest of four children born to Hubert and Velma. He was preceded in death by an infant brother and his sister, Frances (Fergason) Herring. Frank attended Capitol Hill High School where he played tuba in the band. After high school, Frank joined the United States Air Force. He married Harriett Jane Desper on September 23, 1955 and they were married for 63 years, until Jane's death in March 2019. Frank and Jane lived in various locations during Frank's time in the military, including France, South Carolina, and Texas. Frank and Jane welcomed two daughters during their marriage, Kathryn Ruth (Fergason) Smith in 1960 and Elizabeth Jane (Fergason) Hubble in 1963. Frank retired from the Air Force in the 1970's and continued to work for the Air Force as a civil servant until his retirement in the 1990's. He was an avid fan of the University of Oklahoma and had season tickets for OU football for many years. Frank's hobbies included cultivating miniature roses, for which he received ribbons at the State Fair on many occasions. Frank is survived by his brother Bill and wife Karen, of Moore, his eldest daughter Katy and husband Harell of Mustang, his youngest daughter Elizabeth and husband Kevin of Tuttle, a granddaughter Robin Elizabeth "Beth" Fergason of Mustang, two great grandchildren, Ash Cadaret and William Henry Franklin Cadaret of Norman, as well as many nieces and nephews. Frank loved many dogs during his lifetime and leaves behind his beloved Chihuahua mix, Cricket.
