Jerry Wayne Flippo

Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Flippo, 66, of Giddings, Texas are scheduled for Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Catholic Church with Father Pedro Castillo officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. The family will be present on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
Jerry Flippo was born on May 10, 1957 to A.C. Flippo and Josie (Spruill) Flippo in Giddings, Texas. He was baptized at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Jerry graduated from Giddings High School. Jerry married the love of his life Linda Jean (Posas) in Giddings on June 21, 1979. He worked as a machine operator for 30 years, over 20 of those years were spent with Dig Tech. He later went on to open his own pressure washing business, J&L Enterprises which he owned and operated for the past 13 years. He specialized in power washing buildings, driveways and detailing vehicles for individuals as well as companies including Bluebonnet Electric, of which he held great pride. Jerry was known for always donating and assisting with any local charities and benefits that he could. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan; he enjoyed watching rodeos and he always supported his local friends. Jerry was a bit of a workaholic who took great pride in detailing vehicles, something that he developed a love for as a teenager working for Hoffman Automotive. When he wasn't working, he would be hosting gatherings at his shop for friends and family. If you ever met Jerry, you would be greeted with a smile and story. He was a loving and devoted family man to his core.
Jerry passed away the morning of Wednesday, August 9,2023 at his shop in Giddings.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jean Flippo; parents, A.C and Josie Flippo; and two brothers, Kenneth and Dennis Fletcher.
Jerry is survived by his three daughters, Juanita Posas and husband Manuel Rios Jr. of Giddings, Melinda and husband Anthony Basquez of Giddings, Jeri Lyn Flippo and husband Alfredo Garcia Jr. of Kyle; seven grandchildren, Brittney Rios of Giddings, Brianna Rios and husband Randy Segura of Giddings, Marina Rios and significant other Edgar Cardona of Giddings, Mallory Basquez of Giddings, Marcus Basquez of Giddings, Jose Rojas III of Kyle, and Alexia Garcia of Kyle; five great grandchildren, Brylee Davis of Giddings, Wynter Brown of La Grange, Jasmine Diaz of Giddings, Bella Diaz of Giddings, Randy Segura Jr. of Giddings; three sisters, Debbie and husband Ralph Domel of Schertz, Mary and husband Douglas Jatzlau of Giddings, and Wanda Mertink and partner Sue Votaw of Giddings; one brother Terry and wife Beatrice Flippo of Smithville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Serving as pallbearers will be Manuel Rios Jr., Anthony Basquez, Alfredo Garcia Jr., Marcus Basquez, Jose Rojas III, Terry Flippo, David Posas Sr., Pete "Tootie" Posas Sr., and Joe Posas. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Segura Jr., Ralph Domel, Douglas Jatzlau, Randy Segura Sr., and Edgar Cardona.
Memorials may be made to the J&L Enterprises Scholarship Fund at Round Top State Bank, or to the charity of one's choice.
