SAVANNAH – Jerry Isaac Getter passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Jerry was born January 23, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA. He was the son of the late Isidore and Eva Getter.
Jerry attended Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the military and served in the Armed Forces for many years. He held many jobs throughout his career ranging from window trimming to owning a restaurant, but most of his career he spent as a dedicated employee to Selectronics, a family business.
Jerry was known for his charm, fashion sense, and quick wit. His pastimes included fishing, growing his tomato plants, and watching the Philadelphia Eagles, Sixers, Phillies, and Flyers. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jerry was always known for a good time and most of those were with his tight group of lifelong friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Annette Sobel of Philadelphia, PA. He is survived by his sons Brian Getter (Sarah) and Matthew Getter (Cara); grandsons, Page Getter, Landis Getter, and Leo Getter; sister, Sheila Segal (Jay) of Philadelphia, PA; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
