JERRY GUILDS Obituary
He married Candace Baker on September 15, 1984, in Lawrenceville, and they shared 40 years together until his passing. Jerry is survived by his wife, Candace of Lawrenceville, son, Joel of Corning, N.Y.; grandchild, Kai of Newport News, Va.; brothers-in-law, James (Cynthia) Baker, Jeffrey (Martha) Baker, all of Lawrenceville, and Gregory (Diane) Baker of Enfield, N.H.; cousin, Richard (Margie) Harrison of Painted Post, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Jerry became a member of the Methodist Church of Lawrenceville on December 10, 1950. He went on to graduate from Williamson High School in 1956 and served in the U. S. Army from 1959 to 1965.
He attended Barber School, apprenticed under Aaron (Butch) Hassinger and barbered in Lawrenceville for 69 years. Not only was Guilds Barber Shop a gathering place for haircuts and local news, but many guns were sold under a second business known as Guilds Guns. Jerry was a collector himself and attended countless gun shows. He enjoyed hunting, riding four wheelers and snowmobiles, loved stock car racing, favoring NASCAR's #43, Richard Petty. He was a 50-year-old member of the Tioga Lodge No. 373, a Benefactor member of the NRA. Jerry became passionate about travelling, studying maps and planning trips. He and his wife visited 53 National Parks in the lower 48 and Alaska.
Family will receive friends on December 1 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 6 Franklin Street, Lawrenceville, beginning at 1 p.m., with Pastor Harry Dow officiating the service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Powers cemetery in Lawrenceville. Memorial donations may be made in Jerry's name to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org), National Kidney Foundation (https://www.kidney.org) or a charity of choice. Arrangements are in the care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Inc.

Dear Candy, I have been away and just now read that you have lost Jerry. I am so very sorry to hear of this. I know some have asked how we were related. Jerry's Dad Pat was the brother of my Grandpa Loren Guilds. Please know that you and yours are in my prayers as you go through this difficult time.

As a toddler I remember walking to Guilds barber shop when my brother got a hair cut. It was always a nice trip. Jerry was a large part of the Lawrenceville Community.
