Jerry Hall Obituary

Jerry LaDon Hall, at the age of 72, entered eternal rest peacefully on Saturday evening, February 3, 2024, at Ochsner Medical Center of New Orleans. He was born in Magee, Mississippi on October 12, 1951, to Leonard Hall and Irma Tuggle Eldridge. He is survived by his wife Earline Dufrene Hall of 36 years, his adoring children JeriLynn Hall Mayeur (David), Angele Chabert Kimberly (Chris) and Blayne Chabert (Ashleigh). Jerry was the proud paw paw to Raymond Mayeur, Justin Carpenter, Christian Kimberly, Alix Lambe, Savannah Calamia, Carleigh and Ryleigh Chabert, and great paw paw to Jesse Lambe. He was the younger brother of Brenda Cantrelle. Jerry will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends, whom he dearly loved. Jerry was preceded in death by his father Leonard Hall, mother Irma Eldridge, stepdad Dale Eldridge, and brother Kiley Hall. A native of Magee, and proud resident of the Northshore for over 28 years and cherished his last 6 years residing in Abita Springs. Jerry graduated from West Jefferson High School, in Harvey, Louisiana, and he received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice, from Loyola University of New Orleans. Jerry's professional and outstanding career in Law Enforcement began in Jefferson Parish and continued to St. Tammany Parish for a total of 34 dedicated years. Jerry retired as Sergeant of Homicide Division of St. Tammany. After retiring from St. Tammany Parish Sheriffs Department, Jerry worked at Diversified Foods and Seasons Inc, as Manager of Internal Controls. After retirement, Jerry enjoyed marshalling and playing golf at Covington Country Club. Jerry was a member of The St. Tammany Deputies Association and West St. Tammany Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 17. He was also a member of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana F & A. M. Covington 188, and an Envoy member of Beta Sigma Phi. Jerry was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time outdoors playing golf and indoors watching LSU games. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family, friends, and especially spoiling his grandkids. Jerry was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again. Condolences to the Hall family. While I moved from JPSO, Jerry was my first Sgt with JPSO in the 1980´s, and his leadership and guidance has always been remembered. May your family find comfort in the years of memories and bonds of love.

I began my friendship with Jerry when he was working for Diversified Foods. He came to the local plant to resolve an issue they a were having. Being a former police officer he stopped into our police department to introduce himself.
Our friendship took off from that moment. He introduced me to Cajun food and I bought him his first non LSU sweatshirt (Nebraska Cornhuskers).
I will miss his spirit, friendship, and calls out of the blue just to check up on me.
I hope the memories of your lost love one eases the ache in your hearts!
Your friend and brother in blue,
Chief Lacy
