KEGLEY – Jerry Lynn Hall, 67, of Kegley, died Thursday, November 20, 2025. Born June 13, 1958, in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late William Hall and Lillian Ward Hall.
Jerry was a 1976 graduate of Spanishburg High School and went on to attend Concord College, where she became a proud member of Sigma Sigma Sigma. She embraced the sorority's motto, "To receive much, you must give much," and carried those values throughout her life.
Jerry retired as a Family Support Specialist with the Department of Health and Human Services, here she made a lasting impact on many lives. However, coaching was her true lifelong passion. She spent 41 years coaching, with more than 30 of those dedicated to volleyball. Jerry had a special gift – she was the coach that players remembered long after the season ended.
Her devotion to her church was as strong as her commitment to her teams. She especially loved driving the church van at East River Baptist Church, and previously at Kegley Baptist Church, and anyone who rode along surely has a story to tell. Jerry's patience, humor, and genuine love for children left an indelible mark on countless lives. Impacting kids through Christ wasn't something she just did; it was at the heart of her calling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Randall Hall.
Survivors include her dog, Maggie; two sisters, Susan Wright of Bland, VA and Debra Hedrick and husband Keith of Camp Creek; her twin-brother, Gary Hall and wife Donna of Princeton; many nieces and nephews, Tommy (Pride) Wright and fiancée Kathy, Herman Wright and wife Sanna, Becky (Joy) Farley and husband Mattthew, Tammy Wright, Jackie Copenhaver and husband Shawn, Leland Hedrick and wife Lisa, Amanda West and husband Jacob, Kevin Hall and wife Faith, Brooke Finley, Elijah Hall, Cierra Hall, Jacob Hall and a host of great nieces, nephews, as well as two great, great nephews.
Jerry made many lifelong friends, and these past few months have been a testament to their loyalty. Her college roommate and sorority sister, Judy Foster-Holland, Rick and Tammy Setser from Kegley Baptist Church, Pam Brown from DHHR, Colien Nunnery, with whom she enjoyed spontaneous excursions, Christin Nelson, who shared Jerry's love for church youth group, Hope Trump, who stood by her side for years coaching volleyball and affectionately thought of her as a second mother, and Linda Cheverton, with whom she met every day at the dog park, unless it was raining.
Jerry will be remembered for the many "Jerry-isms" she shared, each one a testament to her unique spirt. She truly loved her life by God, family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the Maranatha Baptist Church Gymnasium, 314 Oakvale Rd., Princeton with Terry Lambert and Pastor Rick Setser officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Serving as pallbearers will be her great nephews, Brady Farley, Andrew Farley, Michael Farley, Joshua Hedrick, Elijah Hall and Jacob Hall.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. until service hour at the Maranatha Baptist Church Gymnasium.
