Jerry Don Hall, 75, of Sagerton, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 in Abilene. Visitation will be held at 2:00- 3:00 p.m. in the Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2026, in, North Fairview Cemetery, FM 1547, Memphis, Texas.
Jerry was born August 17, 1950 In Memphis, Texas to Billy Joe and Billie Jo (Jones) Hall. He moved to Sagerton in 1999. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America where he was awarded the level of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Memphis High School in 1968. In his high school days, playing for the Memphis Cyclone football team, Jerry was the highest scoring player as a place kicker, thereby earning him the nickname "Golden Toe". He went on to receive a degree as a Geo Physicist. He married Claudia Nadine Fleming, September 23 1972.
Jerry's expertise was in geophysical services for oil and gas exploration, including seismic data interpretation and processing. He was a Senior Seismic Analyst at Mobil Oil (1968–1977), contributing to early advancements in seismic techniques during a period when seismic 2D was transitioning to 3D method. Jerry's skills included geology, petroleum engineering, natural gas exploration, energy sector operations, onshore/offshore drilling, and oilfield management, all tied to seismic applications in hydrocarbon discovery. Jerry founded Texan Geophysical, Inc., between the 1980s -2000s where he served as President and Owner. He specialized in seismic services, supporting Global oilfield operations amid the 1980s oil boom and bust cycles.
He had love of airplanes which led him to get his pilot's license. Jerry upheld the 2nd Amendment and was an avid gun collector. He loved his family and was very proud of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Claudia Hall of Sagerton; son Jeremy Benjamin Hall of Stamford; daughter Bailey Hall and Ryan Bergan of Alvord, Texas; grandchildren Moxie, Atlas and Maisie Bergan all of Alvord; brothers Tommy Hall of Memphis, and Bobby Hall and Laura of Abilene; many nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
