Jerry Richard Hulsey

Jerry Richard Hulsey, age 78, of Tallapoosa, passed away on November 20, 2025, at a local healthcare facility. He was born on April 30, 1947, in Muscadine, Alabama, the son of the late Aaron Cecil Hulsey and Dorothy 'Williams' Hulsey.
Jerry lived a life defined by service, hard work, and deep faith. Though he retired twice-first from Lucent Technology and later from the Georgia Department of Corrections-he never truly stopped working. His passion for helping others led him to serve as the proud CEO of Graceful Hands Grave Service, where he continued to pour his heart into his community. Jerry was also a proud veteran of the United States Army and a Faithful Pastor of 6 different churches over 40 years where he shared his faith with warmth and sincerity.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Joel Hulsey, and a brother, Homer Hulsey.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marvene 'Price' Hulsey; his sisters, Angelia Alred (Billy) and Brenda Johnson (Donnie); his brother, Harold Hulsey (Becky); two grandchildren, Joe Hulsey (Rebekah) and Cynthia Hulsey; and his great-grandchildren, Jayden, Collin, Jayce, Jaxon, Tyler, Jocelyn, Dylan, and Waylon. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
The family will receive friends at Hightower Funeral Home on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Carroll and Rev. David Ginn officiating. Joe Hulsey, Hunter Davis, Mitchell Reeves, Ethan Skinner, Shane Hulsey, and Heath Johnson will serve as pallbearers.
Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.
