Jerry Jeter, born Gerald Ross Jeter on December 27,1941, in Seattle, WA, was a man of ambition and reliability, a beacon of humor and love; he was a man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. His life, spanning over eight decades, was a testament to resilience, dedication, and the power of a positive, can-do attitude. A longtime resident of Buckley, Washington, where he lived for 35 years, Jerry was a retired General Manager in the machinery industry. His reputation for integrity, diligence, and a keen business acumen made him a respected figure in his field.
Known by his friends and family as Jerry, "Father'O " or "Daddio", he was a funny man who could fill a room with laughter, also loving husband who shared a deep bond with his wife Connie, a reliable friend who was always there when you needed him the most. He was a man of many passions, from baseball and boxing to golfing and fishing. His love for adventure was evident in his frequent fishing trips with the boys, hunting adventures, ocean beaches and his famous attendance at the fights. It was said, "You cannot forget the love he had for his casino family as well." In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make a difference that have lived and lived well," and Jerry embodied this philosophy.
Jerry was also a long-time Eagles member, a testament to his community involvement and his belief in service to others. He had a green thumb, cherished mowing his lawn with his John Deer tractor, and delighted in the simple joys of gardening. He loved his bourbon and fancy cigars, and his evenings were often spent in the company of his wife Connie outside underneath the gazebo. Those who knew Jerry recognized him as a humble, loyal, and supportive man, a true friend and a cherished family member. The last of the Real ones!
Jerry is survived by his wife, Connie Jeter of 39 years. His sister Christie Remington. Children Brad, Bryan, Jodie, Jason, Randy and Debbie. Jerry also had multiple grandchildren, Great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Grace Jeter. His legacy will live on in the laughter of stories and memories of the countless lives he had touched. We invite friends and family to share their cherished memories and photos of Jerry on this memorial page, helping us to celebrate and remember a life truly well-lived. His Celebration of Life will be held at the Buckley Eagles on November 15th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity.
