With a heart full of love and eyes filled with cherished memories, we commemorate the life of Richard Arlin Bolster, fondly known as Dick, Dad, and Grampa, who graced this world with his warmth from August 7, 1936, to October 25, 2025. Born in the humble town of Minot, ND, Richard spent his life embodying the virtues of dedication, humor, love, and creativity, leaving an indelible imprint on every soul he touched.
A devoted delivery driver for the Postal Service, Richard was the epitome of dedication and commitment. His sense of humor was legendary, and he could always be counted upon to bring laughter to any situation, even at the Eagles Club where his jovial nature was a cherished balm. Yet, it was not just his humor that was infectious, but also his love for life. An ardent fisherman, Richard found solace in the tranquility of nature, often accompanying this pastime with his favorite activity, taking naps. He also enjoyed the thrill of the casinos, but nothing mattered more to him than his family. His love for his kin was boundless, a testament to his big heart that made him so loved by anyone who knew him.
Richard's creativity found a unique outlet in his life journey, as he made homes in various places, including Minot, Seattle, Federal Way, and Tenino, before finally settling in Buckley, Washington. He is survived by his loving children, Kenneth Bolster, Kim Beach, Lorraine Carson, and Robert Bolster, who are a testament to his loving nature. Richard is reunited with his father Arthur, mother Emma, and beloved wife Velma in the realm beyond.
"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die," writes Thomas Campbell, a sentiment that truly encapsulates the life of Richard. His spirit lives on in the stories, laughter, and love he left behind. We will gather to celebrate Richard's life on Monday, November 10, 2025, starting with a visitation at 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm, and a graveside service at 2:00 pm at Weeks' Funeral Home in Buckley. A reception will be held at the same location at 2:30 pm.
We invite all who knew and loved Richard to leave their cherished memories and upload photos of him on his memorial page. Let us remember not just that Richard died, but that he lived, and that his life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
