Darrell passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 20th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Darrell was a devoted husband of 42 years to his wife Kathy, and together they built a beautiful life centered around family. He was a proud father of two sons Kevin (Tammy) and Tony (Wendy) Seymour. A cherished Papa to 9 grandchildren, Victor, Amber, Ernesto, Kayelah, Samantha, Mackenzie, Mahala, Tristan and Tatumn and 14 great grandchildren Iris, Philo, Jace, Addie, Ellie, Kade, Kinsley, Ezra, Kamilla, Emma, Latai, Tammy, Waylon and Greyson all who brought immense joy in addition to many nieces and nephews. Darrell will be remembered for his courage and devotion to family and countless memories he created with those who knew and loved him, including his lifelong friendship with Dave, his best friend (other brother) since 4th grade who was a treasured part of his life. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will continue to carry forward the values he instilled.
Darrell was born in Enumclaw Washington and grew up in Buckley. Upon graduating from White River High School, Darrell served in the United State Marine Corps for 4 years and achieved the rank of Sgt E-5, as an MP. He then worked for Sey-Mik Cabinets for 30 years, doing what he loved most, building custom cabinets, followed by working with the Enumclaw School District as a Custodian until his retirement in 2023. His passion for helping others lead to him serving the community for 30 years as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT combined service with Buckley Fire, Pierce County Fire District 12 and East Pierce Fire and Rescue and worked for the Puyallup Fair as a Grandstand Usher from 2011 to 2025.
He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother – Dahn and Florence Seymour, Sister Rita Seymour, Brother Edgar and Nephew Brian.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife Kathy, sons Kevin (Tammy) and Tony (Wendy), grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on November 1st, 2025, at the Buckley Hall from 2 – 5 pm. 127 N River Avenue, Buckley, WA 98321
In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Buckley Volunteer Fire Association. 611 S. Division St, Buckley, WA 98321
