Jerry Wayne Killmer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Wayne Killmer Jr., 47, of Crowley, LA on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Jerry was born on June 9, 1977, in Crowley, LA, to the parents of Jerry Killmer Sr and Corice Guidry Killmer of Jennings, LA.

A graduate of Jennings High School. He was a store manager at Rouses in Lafayette, LA. He was a keyboard player for Travis Matte and the Kingpins for many years. Jerry also played for Damon Troy, Jamie Bergeron, Lukas Meaux, and many other bands. He spent his life surrounded by family and friends who adored him. Jerry was a vibrant soul; known for his love of music and the joyous spirit he brought to every gathering. Those who knew him appreciated his warm presence, infectious laughter, tightly bear hugs, and the kindness he showed to everyone. He never met a stranger.

He cherished his family deeply. Stacie Killmer Benoit, sister, who will forever remember the laughter they shared. He was also a proud uncle to Kaitlyn Benoit, niece, of Jennings, LA and William Benoit, nephew, of Jennings, LA. who will miss their fun-loving uncle dearly.

His paternal grandparents were Emery Killmer and Della Louviere Killmer of Jennings, LA. His maternal grandparents were Guy Guidry Sr. and Pauline Broussard Guidry of Jennings, LA. In addition to his family, Jerry had a special bond with his dog, Brutus Wayne, who was his loyal companion and source of countless joyful moments. He loved and adored his dog niece, Roxie. Jerry had a special kind of driving for his Aunt Carla Chapman. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Jerry knew the happiness he brought to their lives.

To honor Jerry's memory, a public viewing will be held at Miguez Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 2:30 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 8:00 AM until the funeral service at 10:00 AM. Bro. Thomas Patterson will officiate the ceremony at Miguez Funeral Home. Following the service, Jerry will be laid to rest at 11:00 AM in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

As we gather to celebrate Jerry's life, we look forward to sharing memories and stories about the incredible man he was. His spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Jerry. You will be deeply missed.

Pallbearers who will be carrying Jerry to his final resting place will be William Benoit, Travis Matte, Tim Picard, Jacob Gaspard, Lukas Meaux, and Robbie Buller.
