Jerry Dean Lalicker, 87, passed away Tuesday August 12, 2025 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. He was born December 12, 1937 in Garden City, Kansas; the son of Earl and Inez (Hunter) Lalicker.
Jerry graduated from Burwell High School, Burwell Nebraska, 1955. He married Donelda Mae Solze on June 14, 1959. Jerry attended the Toledo Meat School and was well known as a meat cutter in the community. His last employment was with the United Stated Department of Agriculture as a Food Inspector where he retired in 2010.
Through the years he made many friends playing softball and bowling. He enjoyed making benches from weathered fence material which many people still enjoy today. Jerry was a proud family man and his greatest joy was supporting all of them as they graduated college. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Donelda "Donnie" Lalicker of the home, his children Tammy and Ed Rieth of Garden City, Steve and Carol Lalicker of Leland, North Carolina, Kelli Livermore of Garden City, and Shelli Lalicker of Garden City. Jerry is also survived by his grandchildren Bryer and Torie Livermore of Garden City, Cooper Livermore of Omaha, Nebraska, Colby Lalicker of Charlotte, North Carolina, Austin and Megan Lalicker of Fairfax, Virginia, Preston Lalicker of South Korea, Devin and Julia Rieth of Garden City, Cameron Rieth of Arkansas City, Kansas, and Brennan Rieth of Pierceville, Kansas; great-grandchildren Baylor Livermore, Connor Rieth, Karsyn Rieth, Cassen Rieth, and one on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Hunter Lalicker, brothers Ray Lalicker and Forrest Burgett, and sisters Eunice Whitman and Della Mae Stover.
Following Jerry's wishes no service will be held. The family suggests memorial contributions to Friends of the Lee Richardson Zoo in care of Garnand Funeral Home. Condolences may be posted online by visiting www.garnandfuneralhomes.com
