Jerry Troutman Luaces

Jerry Troutman Luaces passed away on July 16, 2025, at Arden Courts of Lely in Naples, FL, with her family by her side. Jerry was born on August 26, 1943, in Ethel, West Virginia. Her late parents, Kenneth Waldo Troutman and Virginia Petry Troutman, raised Jerry in Portsmouth, Ohio.

As a young girl, Jerry was a member of The International Order of the Rainbow Girls. Just like her father, Ken ('Hank'), Jerry had a love for music – he played the guitar, she played the piano. Jerry was also a member of her high school riffle club. She graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1961.

As a young girl, Jerry dreamed of being a nurse. She attended Riverside-White Cross School of Nursing in Columbus, OH, for 4 years and graduated as a registered nurse in 1964. While working at Riverside Hospital, she met her husband and love of her life, Victor Luaces. They married in 1965. Jerry worked for many years as an obstetrics/labor and delivery nurse. She spent much of her career serving patients in Naples, FL, at Naples Community Hospital and later at Peace River Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. It was Jerry's greatest joy to assist families with bringing a new life into the world.

Jerry was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. She always had a sewing and/or crochet project happening on the side. She loved to laugh and joke-around – if you could make her laugh to the point of tears, then you were truly a friend.

Jerry was preceded in death by her husband Victor Luaces and her brother 'Tony' Kenneth Anthony Lavinder. Jerry is survived by her 3 daughters: Ginny Hurst (Jason), Maria Luaces, and Angela Nash. Jerry is also survived by her niece and nephew as well as 6 grandchildren: Rafael, Jeremy, Natalie, Sophie, Jude, and Liam.
