A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Andrew Brewster with family members and friends, including her goddaughter, Mia Wood, sharing special moments.
Marie was born on July 26, 1965, to Rex D. and Conchetta Miller in Merced, California and passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Christus-Highland in Shreveport, Louisiana, surrounded by her family.
Marie married the love of her life, Eric Frank Luaces on May 22, 1987. She had one son, Aaron Miller, who she adored more than anything. Her enduring love for her family was felt deeply and her memory will be treasured forever.
Marie worked for Knots & Needles for many years, and she loved her job. It was not only her job but her hobby. She later went on to work for Squires and stayed there working alongside her sister, Pauline, and brother-in-law, Marty until her health caught up with her.
She loved Jesus and her grandchildren more than anything. She loved her dog, Beau, who was her fur baby. She loved shopping and spending time with her family, which was of the utmost importance. Family game nights were always fun for her as she would still say she was the Uno champ, although all her nieces and nephews would disagree with that!
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Rex D. and Conchetta Miller. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Eric Frank Luaces; son, Aaron Michael Miller and wife, Tasha; grandsons, Hayden and Holden Miller; sisters, Debra Duncan and husband, Frank, Pauline Hearst and her husband, Marty; brother, Rex D. Miller, Jr. and his wife, Tonia; brothers-in-law, Nick Luaces, Brett Luaces and Dan Luaces; fur baby, Beau and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
Honoring Marie as pallbearers will be Hayden and Holden Miller, Dawson Gilbert, Ryan Miller, Joe Miller and Dustin Gabour.
The family would like to express special thanks to Christus-Highland Critical Care Unit, for their compassion. Marie will be forever missed by her family, friends and all the lives that she touched.
