Jerry Lee Michalsky was born in Bay City, MI on February 14, 1942 to the late Walter and Dorothy (Binkley) Michalsky. He passed away August 11, 2023. His wife Carol Ann preceded him in death on April 5, 2020.
Jerry was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. John the Evangelist Church. He held a Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a Master's degree from Saginaw Valley State University. Prior to retirement, he was a teacher in the Bay City Public Schools.
He is survived by his children: Kimberly (Dan) Krueger and Michael (Maureen) Michalsky, his grandchildren: Kayla (Jose) Acosta, Courtney (Paris Surgeson-Fiance) Koczenasz, Kara (Tyler Hinojosa) Koczenasz, Brandon Michalsky, Katelynn (Ashton Porter) Michalsky, Anna Michalsky and Jasmine Riley, 10 great grandchildren and brother-in-law Robert (Kay) Rose, nieces Danni (Greg) Burns, Mindy (Dennis) Turmell, Robin and Lisa and nephew Justin Michalsky He was preceded in death by his brothers Daniel and Steven Michalsky.
The Funeral Liturgy will be Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 1 p.m. Penzien Steele Funeral Home. Fr. Dale Orlik will preside. The Rite of Committal will follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visiting will be from 10 a.m. on Wednesday and continue until the Liturgy begins. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Rescue Mission or the Salvation Army or St. Jude Parish.
