Rose Marie Ballard
Bay City, Michigan
Rose Marie Ballard, age 65, passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2025, with family by her side. She was born in Bay City on August 15, 1959, to the late Charles and Eva (Carlisle) View. Rose married her husband Roy Ballard and he preceded her in death in 2001. Rose was known for her hard-working spirit, spending many years as a housekeeper with Custom Maids. She was also a longtime member of her husband's family church, New Testament Bethel Church.
Outdoors was where Rose felt most at home-fishing, camping, and sitting around a campfire from morning to night, the smoke never bothering her one bit. She loved watching sports (even when rooting for the wrong team), with a special love for NASCAR. Indoors, she was just as content-rewatching Dirty Dancing, Grease, and Emergency, sipping her Pepsi, with her beloved dogs by her side.
Her grandchildren were her heart and soul, and she never missed a moment to be there or support them. She especially loved being a great-grandma and had a special bond with her two-year-old great-grandson, Graham, her first little buddy. Rose also embraced her blended family fully, loving her 28 other grandchildren and many great-grandchildren through marriage as if they were her own.
She is survived by her children: Valaine (Wayne) Phillips, Anthony "Pepe" (Gina) View, and Justin View; and her stepchildren: Judy Ballard, Roy (Connie) Ballard, Kathy (Gerald) Bradley, Amy (Joe) Sheltraw, James (Cathy) Ballard, Dusty (Jenny) Ballard, and Laina (Keith) Boyd.
She was the proud grandmother of Gabrielle (Andrew), Lynnze (Tanner), Lucas (Ashlyn), Anna, Justin, Maddie, Ty, Samuel, Dylan, and DJ, along with 28 additional beloved grandchildren she loved dearly. Rose is also survived by her siblings: Karen (Larry) Nelson, James View, Marilyn (Albert) Anquetil, William (Heather) View, Linda Dixon, and Carl View.
Along with her husband, Roy Ballard, and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Garrett, brother Allen View, and brother-in-law Jeff Dixon.
Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was funny, ditzy in all the right ways, loving soul who made every family member-by birth or by bond-feel special and seen.
A visitation will take place at Squires Funeral Home Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 3PM - 7PM. A service led by Dusty Ballard will take place at 7PM. Those wishing to make a contribution may consider a donation to the family for a future designation.
