Jerry L. Moore Sr., 72 of Berne, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jerry was born on August 1, 1952 in Chicago, IL, to Emmet and Ruby (Collins) Moore. After graduating from high school, Jerry served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He married Joyce Norton in Pendleton, Indiana. She preceded him in death on June 20, 2016. Jerry had a passion for fishing and a passion for the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed spending his time with his grandkids, taking them out to eat or taking them to the park.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Ruby Moore, his wife, Joyce Moore, and his son, Timothy Martin Casanova-Moore.
Loving survivors include his children, Jerry Lee Moore Jr. and Ryan Emmett Moore, stepchildren, Tammy Watkins, Marie Watkins, Laura (Randall) Bergman, and Tina (Matt) Fisher, grandchildren, Rachel Moore, Renae Moore, Zachary Hensley, Alexandria Napier, Austin Bergman, Ashley Watkins, Audree Bergman, Anthony Bergman, Miguel Watkins, and Katelyn Watkins, and great grandchildren, Timothy, Michael, Vayda, and Lillith Moore, Jaxon, Ezekiel, and Lily Hensley, and Landon Bergman.
A graveside service will be held at Marion National Cemetery on Friday, December 20, 2024 beginning at 2pm promptly, where military honors will be performed. Afterwards there will be a celebration of life held at Sapphires Reception Center located at 1100 Votaw St., Portland, IN. from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested any donations to be made to the funeral home in assistance for the funeral cost.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Downing & Glancy Funeral Home in Geneva, Indiana.
