Jerry Franklin Moore, 85, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. Jerry dedicated many years of his life to education, retiring from Mount Tabor Elementary School after service both in the classroom and on the school bus.
Born on April 27, 1940, in Corydon, Indiana, Jerry was the son of Ralph and Esther (Lenz) Moore. Alongside them, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth.
In addition to his career, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved exploring thrift stores, trying his luck with the lottery on a weekly basis, and above all, he treasured the moments spent with his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Roxanne Moore; granddaughter, Trina Ruby and her husband, Greg; his beloved great-grandchildren, Brayden Miller, Kylee Ruby, and MaKenna Ruby; and his best friends, Carol Geracitano and Lucy Minton, who faithfully supported and cared for him.
Jerry's wish was to be cremated and Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in New Albany was entrusted with his care. Contributions in his memory may be made to Rauch Industries, Inc. or to the American Cancer Society.
