Jerry Milton Moore, a passionate outdoorsman, skilled hunter, and dedicated car and tractor enthusiast, passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born on September 9, 1943, to Sadie Elizabeth Smith and Clare Milton Moore, Jerry lived a life defined by hard work, a deep love of nature, and an appreciation for anything powered by a motor. Those who knew him best understood that if Jerry teased you, you could be sure he liked you; it was simply his way of showing it.
A true sportsman, Jerry spent countless hours in the woods, whether pursuing deer with his favorite rifle or bowhunting. When not in the field, he could often be found in his garage working on mowers and chainsaws, or tinkering with old tractors and the firearms he collected and cared for. Known as a “master tinkerer,” Jerry was always happiest when he had something to work on.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie Elizabeth Smith and Clare Milton Moore; and his former wife, Brenda Moore, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
He is survived by his children, Tami Moore (David Seger) and Mike (Monica) Moore; his grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Stout and Justin Moore, and his step-grandson, Benjamin (Juliette) Seger; his great-grandchildren, Lucas and Izaiah Stout and Colt Moore, known to them as “GGP”; his sister, Renee (Dave) Blake; and his niece and nephew, Rebecca Blake and David Blake.
A small celebration of Jerry’s life will be held in the spring for family and close friends.
