Jerry Pistole Obituary

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL-Jerry Vesper Pistole passed away at his home in Cookeville, Tennessee, on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the age of 82. He was born July 9, 1942, in McMinnville, Tennessee to the late Vesper and Eva Burks Pistole. He graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1964. A proud veteran, Jerry served his country as a Navy pilot during the Vietnam War. After leaving the Navy, he continued to serve his country as a Federal Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Jerry served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

After retiring from government service, Jerry was the owner and operator at Cumberland Mountain Hunting Lodge and Cumberland Field Stone. He was a faithful member of Stevens Street Baptist Church in Cookeville, TN where he served as a deacon for many years. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Judith Ann Pistole; son daughter-on-law, Jay and Jane Pistole of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, son and daughter-in-law, Jarrett and Christal Pistole of Liberty, TN, son and daughter-in-law, John and Angela Pistole of Baxter, TN; and granddaughters, Kate Pistole of Liberty, TN and Jenny Pistole, of Baxter, TN.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home between the hours of 5-8pm, and on Monday February 17, 2025 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Salem Cemetery in Liberty, TN.
