Jerry Michael Plummer II, known affectionately as Jerry to his friends and family, passed away on April 24, 2025, in Travelers Rest, SC. Born on November 14, 1969, in Huntington, WV, Jerry's life was marked by his resilience, wit, and the deep love he had for those around him.
Jerry was a devoted husband to Christina R. Plummer, whom he married in 2006, and a loving father to his children, Marcus, Adam, Michael, and Chloie. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Jerry's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Ryleigh, Raelynn, and LJ, who will remember him for his playful spirit and generous heart.
Predeceased by his mother, Debi Raby, Jerry is survived by his father, Jerry Michael Plummer (Gail), his brother Charles Gehlken (Monika), and his sister Christina M. Plummer. His extended family, including his sister-in-law Mary Scott, brother-in-law Joey Mason (Lois), sister-in-law Danielle Stephens (Jay), and his nephews Jordan, Hunter, and Gabriel, as well as his nieces Kennedy, Grace, and Gabriella, will miss his presence at family gatherings where his cooking and political debates were always highlights.
Jerry was a man of many talents, a hard worker who took pride in his craft as a plumber and electrician. His hands were skilled, and he was always ready to lend them to anyone in need. His associates knew him as a man who could be relied upon, a person whose work ethic was as strong as his character.
Beyond his professional life, Jerry was a man of varied interests. He loved working not just for the sake of accomplishment, but for the joy it brought him. Cooking was another passion of his, and he often delighted his family with his culinary creations. His resilience shone through in his ability to debate politics with a sharp wit, yet always with a loving and generous nature.
Jerry's resilience was matched by his sense of humor. He was a witty person who could find a light-hearted moment in any situation, bringing smiles to those around him even in challenging times. His cat, Moonshine, was a beloved companion, often found by his side as he went about his day.
Those who knew Jerry would describe him as loving, generous, and handy. He was the person you called when something was broken, not just because he could fix it, but because his presence made any problem seem smaller. His generosity extended beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of many in his community.
As we say goodbye to Jerry, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life filled with love, laughter, and the satisfaction of a job well done. He was a man who built a legacy of warmth, kindness, and dedication that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Jerry's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, surrounded by his family and close friends. His memory will be cherished, and his stories will be told for generations to come, ensuring that the essence of who he was will never be forgotten.
