Jerry Roland Prather

Jerry Roland Prather, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 in Prague, at the age of 82. Jerry was born on February 14, 1941 in Ochelata, Oklahoma. He was the son of George and Agnes (Anderson) Prather. Jerry attended school in Skiatook and finished his high school education at Wewoka High School. Following high school, Jerry enrolled at Oklahoma State University and upon switching degree paths, completed his college career at the University of Oklahoma. Jerry graduated with a PhD in child psychology with a minor in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma. Jerry had a distinguished career with the United States Department of Justice.
Jerry married Glena (Middleton) Prather on June 22, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The family made their home in Norman until Jerry's career took them to several locations throughout the United States. Following Jerry's retirement, the couple purchased their farm just outside of Prague, where they have made their home since 1996. The couple raised two children, Keith and Alicia and were blessed with two granddaughters.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Don Prather and Gwin Prather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty years, Glena Prather; his son, Keith Prather and his wife, Darla; his daughter, Alicia Prather; two granddaughters, Jessica Hill and her husband, Court, and Alison Rasmussen and her husband, Wyatt; his brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Geraldine Middleton and two sisters-in-law, Lavon Baxter and Peggy Prather and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Prague Cemetery in Prague, Oklahoma. The family will accept guests from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.
