Jerry Gilbert Puckett, age 73, of Iron Station, NC passed away suddenly, Sunday May 15, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Puckett was born in Iredell County, NC on March 17, 1943 to the late Gilbert Taylor Puckett and Jane Beam Puckett. He is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Bill, Roy, and Riley Puckett and a sister Betty Jean Colvin. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Dallas and loved his family. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and was an avid gardener. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Elaine "Pete" Honeycutt Puckett. Daughter, Jerri Puckett Smith and husband Eric of Oakboro, NC and son Gilbert Taylor Puckett of Gastonia. Grandchildren, Lori Smith Laws and husband Camron, David Aaron Smith and great Granddaughter Kylie Laws. Brother, Robert "Bobby" Puckett of Mooresville and also a sister.
Funeral Service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Benson Funeral Services, Mt. Holly with Rev. Franklin Herndon Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 1PM at Glenwood Memorial Park, 273 Glenwood Dr., Mooresville, NC.
