Jerry Allan Seppanen, 81, of Proctor, MN, passed away peacefully on September 26th, 2025, at his home.

Born to Harry and Elsie (Granroos) on December 12th, 1943, in Cloquet, Jerry was raised in Kettle River. At the age of 2, Jerry and his family moved to Yakima, WA where they spent a couple years while Harry and Elsie worked, later returning to the Kettle River. Jerry went on to graduate from Cromwell in 1961 before being drafted in the United States Army.

Jerry worked numerous jobs within railroad industry. First, with the Soo Line before his military service, and upon discharge from the service, Jerry began his long career at DM&IR where he retired from in 2003. He was never afraid of work and helped his father with cutting wreaths and driving the milk truck in Cromwell.

Jerry married the love of his life, Diane Wendt, on May 22nd, 1976, in Fairfax, MN. They enjoyed almost 50 years of marriage together and enjoyed traveling and outdoors together. Jerry loved being outside, whether it was hunting or ice-fishing on Mille Lacs, he wanted to be in nature. He was a talented wood worker that liked to make birdhouses and he enjoyed his time spent at the Proctor Moose Lodge with his wife and many friends. Jerry was a proud member of the Kettle River American Legion Post #360 for over 50 years, and the Proctor Moose Lodge #1302 for 36 years.
