Robert Fuller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nelson Funeral Care - Cloquet on Feb. 23, 2026.
Robert Edward Fuller, age 96, of Cloquet, MN passed away peacefully in his home on February 19th, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on August 2nd, 1929, to George and Leah Fuller in Cloquet, MN. Bob graduated from Cloquet high school and was soon united in marriage to the love of his life, Ruth Jean Anderson. The couple went on to be blessed with 73 years of marriage and six children.

Bob joined the Cloquet Fire Department in 1956, while also working as an accomplished carpenter and homebuilder in Cloquet, working until his mid-seventies. Bob is remembered as being generous with his time, always eager to lend a hand in his community. His dry humor and comedic stories will live on in our memories, as will his razor-sharp recollections of local gossip throughout the years.

After retirement, Bob and Ruth spent every winter in Apache Junction, AZ, where Bob was the softball team's star player, as well as the designated runner. They both enjoyed an active retirement playing golf, skiing, bowling, cards, and attending Our Savior's Lutheran church services. Sundays were devoted to church, card-playing, and stories with his family.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Fuller; son, Jon Fuller; daughter-in-law, Donna (Langenbrunner) Fuller; and his siblings, Murray, George, Adeline, Avelyn, and Ellen. He is survived by his children, Robin (Jim Cosgrove) Fuller, Wendy (Steve) Newbloom, Mark Fuller, Robert "Marty" Fuller, and Beth (Rick) Wilhelm; grandchildren, Jen (Sean) Ireland, Jon Fuller, Joseph Marczak, Sarah Palmer, Hunter Wilhelm, Alyssa (Joe Deutsch) Blatnik, and Kayla Winkler; great-grandchildren Maggie, Jemma, Jagger, Jericho, Anya, Bodhi, and August; a great-great-granddaughter, Leilah; and a special niece, Linda (Scott) Browers.

An interment service for Bob will be in June of 2026 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet. Further details will become available in the spring.
