Jerry L. Sloop

Jerry L. Sloop, 80 of Richwood, died Wednesday March 12, 2025 at his home.
He was born September 9, 1944 in Marion to the late William and Louise (Willoby) Sloop. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carlie Gaston.
Jerry was a 1962 graduate of Richwood High School. He retired from Ohio Edison, working there over 40 yrs.
Jerry enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles and go carts when he was younger. He farmed most of his life.
He was a quiet man who cherished his family.
Surviving is his wife, Josephine "Jo" (Sines) Sloop, they were married September 2, 1967 at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are their daughters, Stacie (Arty) Sedgwick and Carrie Sloop both of Richwood
grandchildren, Lauren (Nathan Stout) Sedgwick, Kayla Sedgwick, Trey (Brittanee) Sedgwick, Shelby (Seth Harriman) Sedgwick, Courtney (Josh) McFatter and Corbin Gaston
great grandchildren, Sutton Stout, Aden Harriman, Rebecca Sedgwick, Aria Sedgwick, Raelynn Sedgwick and Adeline McFatter
sister, Willa (Dave) Amstutz of Richwood
Graveside services will be held Monday March 24, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Claibourne Cemetery. Pastor Joseph Rhea will officiate.
