Jerry Trusty

Jerry Dean Trusty, born on December 6, 1951, in Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away on June 14, 2025, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He was raised in Tuttle, North Dakota, as one of nine children, where he developed a strong work ethic and an appreciation for family values that would guide him throughout his life.

Jerry spent his formative years working alongside his father on the family farm, instilling in him the value of hard work and dedication. In 1967, he relocated to Waubun, Minnesota, a change that ushered in new opportunities. He devoted 37 years of his life to Snappy before retiring in 2013. His contributions to his workplace and community will not be forgotten, and he leaves behind a legacy of diligence.

Jerry is fondly remembered as an excellent cook who knew how to make a mean omelette. His passion for food went hand in hand with his love for animals; he was a known 'deer whisperer' and embraced a life full of simple joys. Jerry had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He cherished old cars, notably Mopar, and often took leisurely rides in search of deer. In his downtime, he could be seen enjoying lottery tickets, a caffeine-free diet coke, and a pack of smokes.

In his personal life, Jerry married his beloved wife, Susan Stenberg, on October 19, 1974. Sadly, Susan predeceased him, along with his parents, Floyd and Lillian Trusty, his brother Ronnie, and his brother-in-law Keith. Their memories continue to hold a cherished place in the hearts of those who loved them.

Jerry is survived by his children: Jeremy Trusty, Julie (James) Netland, Jason (Tonya) Trusty, and Jennifer (Jason) Dulski. He was proud of his family, including his 12 grandkids and 11 great-grandkids, who brought him immense joy. He also leaves behind his sisters, Peggy, Susie, and Janice, and his brothers, Allen, Raymond, Steve, and Darryl, along with numerous other family and friends who will remember him fondly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Furey Funeral Home in Frazee, Minnesota, on July 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Jerry will then be laid to rest at Lakeside Cemetery in Frazee, where a burial service will take place at 2:30 PM.

Jerry Dean Trusty will be remembered for his simple demeanor, genuine heart, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. His spirit will live on in the memories and stories shared by his family and friends.
