Jerry Kennedy Walsh, 79, of Magnolia, AR passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Avir at Cowhorn Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Texarkana, TX.
Jerry was born on June 16, 1946, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania to the late David Nelson and Mildred Blanche (Stout) Walsh. Jerry attended along with his sisters, the Scotland School for Veterans Children in Chambersburg (Franklin County) Pennsylvania, which was at the time the only residential boarding school of its kind in the United States, specifically designated and accredited to educate and care for the children of Pennsylvania's veteran military servicemen. After graduating high school, at the age of nineteen, Jerry enlisted in the United States Army actively serving in Vietnam from 1965-67. Most of Jerry's adult life was spent working as a professional counselor for the South Arkansas Youth Services (SAYS) in Columbia and Lafayette County's youth rehabilitation program.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda Walsh; daughter, Jennifer Knight (Aric); sons, Michael Walsh (Angie Rich) and Benjamin Walsh; grandchildren, Agatha Knight, Emma Rich, and Aletha Rich all of Magnolia; sisters, Brenda Ham (Bruce) of Monroe, LA, Diane Freeman (Bob) of Shippensburg, PA, and Cheryl Sherer of Derry, PA; and a host of extended family and friends.
There will be no public services at this time. Cremation services were provided by Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR.
