Jerry Parvin Zeagler, Sr., age 78 of the Summerville Community, Olla, Louisiana passed from this life on Monday, May 20, 2024.
He was born to the union of Luther Mirron Zeagler and Clara Maude (Taylor) Zeagler on Wednesday, September 19, 1945, in Jena, Louisiana.
Jerry was in the United States Army, he served his and our country during the Vietnam War. He received the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, a National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Sharpshooter (Rifle).
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Carl Zeagler and David Zack Zeagler, and a sister Ann (Zeagler) Hawkins,
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Chandra Lyn (Zeagler) Arbogast & husband Jimmy of the Summerville Community, Olla, La, a son Jerry Parvin "Bubba" Zeagler, Jr. & wife Tracie, of Deep Run, NC, a brother Dick Zeagler & wife Mattie, of Jena, La, seven (7) grandchildren, and five (5) great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena, and again on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Summerville Baptist Church from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 24, 2024, with Jack Zeagler officiating. Jerry will be laid to rest with Military Honors following the service in the Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery of the Summerville Community under the directions of Kinner & Stevens.
Those honored to serve Jerry and the family as pallbearers are Colton Arbogast, Brandon Zeagler, Mason Zeagler, Nathan Zeagler, Bryan Zeagler, and Hayden Zeagler.
