Melonie was born on June 14, 1966, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the union of her parents, Bud and Bobbie Wilson. She passed away peacefully at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia, Louisiana, on December 11, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.  Melonie  fought the good fight, and proudly entered the gates of heaven. She collected angels and butterflies, and her favorite color was pink. She loved online shopping, chit-chatting on the phone, and being a Ya-Ya to her grandbabies. Melonie loved her family beyond measure, and was always so grateful for them.  Before Melonies illness, she was a nurse, and enjoyed helping others. Melonie had a heart of gold, and a smile to match. Even through her struggles, she always had a positive attitude, and  words of encouragement to give. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie Callender Wilson, paternal grandparents Bill & Edna Wilson, maternal grandparents Wince & Inez Callender, and nephew Remy Hidalgo. Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Bud Wilson of Urania, her three sons, whom she loved dearly -  Jordy Poole and wife Morgan of Olla, Brayden Averitt and husband Ashton of New Orleans, and Mason Zeagler of Olla, her grandchildren Enslee Poole and Clate Poole, sisters Annette Maxwell (Warren) of Columbia and Melissa Hildalgo (Kerry) of Denham Springs, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins , including a special aunt – Billie Bradshaw (Aunt Sis), who provided exceptional care of Melonie during the last several years.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Haven Nursing Center in Columbia, where Melonie resided for 5 years.  We are truly grateful for the care, compassion and love that you showed Melonie and our entire family. We would also like to thank the medical personnel at Citizens Hospital, Caldwell Memorial, West Jefferson Hospital and Ascend Hospice for their care and support.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Taylor, Joshua Maxwell, Drew Routon, Colby Taylor, Landey Adams, and Justin Delrie.  Honorary pallbearers is Justin Maxwell and Clate Poole.
