Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Ozbat Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Jesse A. Ozbat US Army Captain. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

Wow - that is an awesome honor for Jesse's family (The Honor Walk). I still often think of Jesse when I am with VSU Math folks. Remembering a truly good and bright young man who left this earthy way too early. God' blessings always to his family. ~ Dr. Rebecca Nelson

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your son's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

esse, you were always ahead of your time. I remember being a freshman and meeting you for the first time in JROTC. You had such a leadership quality about you that made me and others look up to you. You always set the example and truly cared and respected those around you. It was a blessing to know you and a honor to have had you as a comrade in the Army. You will truly be missed!

Dear Ozbat family,
I served with Jesse in 1-14 infantry in Hawaii and Iraq. Not only was Jesse the most analytical and intelligent young officer in our battalion, he was the most thoughtful. Dont believe the movies, the best army leaders arent loud or boastful. They are smart, caring and super hard working. Jesses was one of the best. He is missed already.

Words cannot express how truly saddened I am for the loss of a dedicated man. Learning from you and learning with you at VSU has made me a better person, Soldier, and Leader. You are still a role model that I will always look up to. I miss you brother!

Jesse you will be missed, but not forgotten. I have nothing but found memories of our hard times together. Your dedication to the company, your compassion to others that some would just as soon hate, your willingness to do what others would not do, your quiet words that could manage to silence others to listen, your ability to not agree with a plan but see it through like it was your own, we all could go on with how Jesse will live on in our memories. I can think of no other person that will live on with such admiration for how he lived his life. God bless you Danielle and Jesse's family.

Ozbat family, I was so sad to hear about Jesse. I was his platoon sergeant for awhile back in Iraq with 2-25 stryker. Jesse was always very caring for the boys in the platoon and a hell of a hard working young man. I am proud to have called him friend and to have worked with him. May your grief be tempered by the knowledge that Jesse was a great fellow and we will all miss him. My sympathy and prayers go out to you all at this time.

Please know that I feel a sense of tremendous sorrow at the loss of this fine husband, son, brother, and Army Officer. Like many others, I did not know Jesse personally, but am very familiar with his experiences as a Captain in Afghanistan. I was there as a newly married Civil Affairs Officer in 2002. I got hurt, but not that bad. It has been over 10 years. Peace is where we need to be now - so I wish that with all my heart to your family. Jesse, we were brothers and didn't even know it. God Speed, brother.

I will never forget Jesse. He and I shared 12 months together on JSS Mushada in Iraq. Time and time again, he would work himself either to a stupor at his desk, or fall asleep at it due to the hours he put in. God bless you man. I still can't believe you're gone.

Dear Ozbat family,
My name is Richard Pyle. I met your son in JROTC at Prince George H.S. He was my platoon leader in Raiders. Even then we saw Jessie's commitment to the troops, his Esprit de Corps was unparalleled, and he had a presence of leadership which I could only equate to that of a big brother. He was my friend and I was his. While we lost touch these past years I always knew he would be doing great things. My heart ground to a halt when I heard of his death. I can only imagine your pains, but I know he passed doing what he always wanted, living the honorable life of a soldier of the U.S Army. I pray that our heavenly father will assuage the anguish of your bereavement and leave you with only the cherished memory of the loved and lost.
Yours truly,
Richard M. Pyle

Cpt. Jesse Ozbat was the last Commander I had prior to my retirement in August 2011. As his 1SG he and I shared responsibility for all the units activities. What I will remember most about him was that he never made a decision without thinking through all the possible consequences that may result from his decision. He is probably somewhere right now thinking of ways he can help others, but this time with only positive consequences occuring. God Bless You Sir!

Dear Ozbat family,
My name is Joe and I live in Aliso Viejo, California. I attend mass at Corpus Christi Catholic Church and I too picked Jesse's name from a basket filled with others who had lost their lives in the war.
I Just wanted to let you know you are not alone and that someday all will be well. Jesse left this world knowing he was loved and though we never met, I wanted to thank him for giving his life for the freedoms that I enjoy. Thank you Jesse!
Love and peace,

Lest we forget. Today Sunday 5/27/12 I attended mass 2 Corpus Cristi Catholic Church. Our parish has a tradition on this memorial day weekend of hanging placards from the ceiling next to the altar. We also have a basket with the names of the fallen. We pull names from the basket and try to contact family to let them know we greatley appreciate the supreme sacrifce their loved ones made. Know that we are praying for those who gave so much and for their families. They gave their tomorrows so we could have today. God bless our prayers are with you.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Jesse will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
I Salute You.
