Jesse Anderson Obituary

COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Jesse Thomas Anderson, 79, of Cookeville, TN, passed away peacefully at NHC in Cookeville on Tuesday November 25, 2025. Jesse was born on August 26, 1946 in Cookeville, the only child of Eva and Joe Anderson. He attended Parkview Elementary and Castle Heights Military Academy for high school. He later studied at Tennessee Tech. Jesse worked in the family business of hotel management and was the General Manager of Rivera Plaza Inn and Southern Motel. He did everything from bookkeeping to machine repair to early IT management. Jesse loved boats, fishing, hunting, and dogs. He was a dedicated father and grandfather and an active member of Center Grove Church of Christ. Jesse was known for his friendly humor and perseverance.

Jesse is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Peggy Anderson, his two children Biff (Deanna) Anderson of Huntsville, Alabama, and Alison Anderson (Grant Lovellette) of Leiden, Netherlands, as well as by five grandchildren, Kyra (Kagan) Richardson, Cole Anderson, and Adelaide, Cressida, and Huxley Lovellette, in addition to other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Joe Anderson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30th at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper, Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday, December 1st from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Sjon Gentry will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Happy Haven Home for Children (2311 Wakefield Dr, Cookeville, TN 38501) or the India Mission Work (c/o Zack Holmes, 2127 Wartrace Hwy, Whitleyville, TN 38588). The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at NHC, Cookeville for their compassion and care during Jesse’s final months
