Retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant Jesse Trammell Dooley, 87, of Sugar Valley, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was born in Resaca, Georgia, on April 16, 1937, to the late Ray Dooley, Sr. and Beatrice Sartin Dooley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Robert Dooley; brother-in-law, Jerry Talley.
Jesse proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1955 until retirement in 1975. He served in Vietnam and earned many medals and accommodations while attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. After his military career, he was employed as a supervisor at Carriage Industries where he later retired. He was a Mason and a member of Hill City Lodge #319.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Brock Dooley; son Jesse (Michelle) Dooley, Jr., daughters, Tammy (Mike) Buchanan, Karen (Mike) McCutcheon, Carolyn (James) Broome; brother, Ray (Hazel) Dooley, Jr; sisters, Sharon Angland, Helen Talley, Phyliss (Londell) Wigley; grandchildren, Timothy Buchanan, Jacob Buchanan, Amanda Buchanan Rowell, Alex McCutcheon, Micheala McCutcheon Nieto, Kelli Broome, Jamie Broome Lynn; great-grandchildren, Ben Rowell, Nathan Rowell, Sadie Buchanan, Buck Buchanan, Silas Nieto, Noelle Nieto, Charlie McCutcheon, Aubrey Buchanan, Jameson Grant.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Blackstock, Rev. Dwaine Shadix, and Tom Dooley officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park with military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. Pallbearers serving are Alex McCutcheon, Jacob Buchanan, Mark Dooley, Mitch Dooley, Mike McCutcheon, James Broome, and Tim Buchanan.
