Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home on Dec. 12, 2025.
Graveside services for Jesse DeVerle Earp, age 87 of Lindale, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2025, at Kelsey Cemetery in Kelsey, Texas with Bishop Jacob Wamboldt officiating.

Jesse peacefully left this life on Thursday, December 11, 2025. He was born July 25, 1938, in Gilmer, Texas to the late Jewel Clem and Elvis Loraine (Daily) Earp. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served a mission in the western states. Over the years he had many callings in the church, including a member of several different Bishoprics and as a High Council member.

He graduated from Van High School in 1956 and became a machinist. He wanted more education, so he went to East Texas State University, now Texas A&M, Commerce.

He served in the National Guard and trained as a radar operator. After he retired, he worked 14 years for NuTech delivering nuclear medicine around East Texas. He finally retired for good in 2017 and spent his hours working outside in his garden and yard.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bonnie, sister, Glenda Kinard; daughters, Leanne Earp and James Brice of Panama, Shauna Ballinger and Shawn of Dener; sons, Erick Earp of McKinney, Calvin Earp and Sonia of Miller Grove, and Scott and Julie Ellisor of Weathorford; stepchildren, Dustye Muse and Alex Weiss of Tucker, Georgia, Darren Muse and Marybeth of Trinidad, Colorado and Deborah Muse and Chris Legg of Marshfield, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 2 more on their way.
