Jesse Long

Jesse Long, born August 22nd, 1984 in Dallas, Texas, to Billy and Dena Long, was a man of substance and heart. His unique blend of determination, compassion, and fun-loving nature endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. "The truest greatness lies in being kind," a quote by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, perfectly encapsulates Jesse's approach to life. As a devoted husband to Heather Bailey, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, he exemplified kindness and generosity throughout his 41 years.
Jesse was a hard worker, dependable and diligent in his role as a forklift operator in the heavy equipment industry. But it was outside of work where Jesse truly shone. His passion for playing guitar created a melodious soundtrack to many family gatherings and soirées with friends. He was the kind of person who could turn ordinary moments into memorable ones, his laughter and spirit of fun infectious. His love for his two dogs was evident in the frequent trips he made to the park, joyfully partaking in their exuberance and zest for life. Above all, Jesse valued his family and friends, consistently putting their happiness and well-being above his own.
Jesse is survived by his wife Heather Bailey, his parents Billy and Dena Long, his sister Courtney, niece Kinsley, and brother-in-law Aaron Cauthen. He also leaves behind his grandmother Nella Long, grandmother Hattie Caffee, uncles Stephen Rast and Mark Caffee, aunts Rhonda Rast, Sharon Fewell, and Janet Petrey, and cousins Ashley Petrey, Jerad Robinson, and Ryan Puente. Jesse was preceded in death by his grandfathers Billy Long and Bill Caffee, and his aunt Deanna Robinson.
A gathering of friends and sharing of memories will be held on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025 at 6:00pm and 7:00pm respectively, at the Midlothian Funeral Home, 200 East Avenue East, Midlothian, Texas, 76065, where we will celebrate Jesse's life and the indelible impact he had on those around him.
In the words of Albert Pine, "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal." Jesse Long's life was a testament to this wisdom. His love, kindness, and the joy he brought to others will continue to live on, a comforting beacon in our hearts.
