Jesse Leroy Middaugh

Jesse Leroy Middaugh, 87, a lifelong resident of Doylesburg, went to be with the Lord October 12, 2022. Born August 5, 1935, in Doylesburg, he was the youngest of 8 children born to the late Roy and Bessie (Duncan) Middaugh. Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Emma J. (Chilcote) Middaugh.
After graduating from Fannett-Metal High School in 1954, Jesse took employment with the Heinz Co. in Chambersburg until 1977, when the plant closed. Then he worked for TB Wood's in Chambersburg until 1989. After that, he became a custodian at Fannett-Metal School District until retiring. As a dedicated worker through his employment career, he preferred the second shift.
Jesse was a member of the Spring Run Bible Church. He loved baseball and played into his 50's. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, loved Spring Gobbler Turkey Hunting, as well as, telling stories and conversation. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Surviving with his wife, Emma, are 4 children: Jesse Jr. and his wife, Joy, of Dillsburg, Mary of Chambersburg, Roy of Doylesburg and Michael and his wife, Christine, of Spring Run; 8 grandchildren, Lydia Cleary (Kyle), Courtney, Carter, Colton, Isaac, Jie, Ella and Kaleb and two Great Granddaughters, Scarlet Cleary and Adelynn Cleary.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond, Zelda Swartzwood, Randall, Ralph, Lottie Harris, Violet Hobble and Charlotte Smith.
His viewing will be Sunday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 8 PM and again Monday at 10 AM followed by the funeral service at 11 AM in the Agett-Lakjer Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, PA, with Pastors Ryan Henderson and John Semple officiating.
