Jesse Ivan Parker, age 58, from Lancaster, CA., passed away on August 21, 2024. Born on May 24, 1966, Jesse lived a life characterized by his passion for basketball and his deep love for his family. His dedication and service were evident in all aspects of his life. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving his nation with honor and dedication.

Jesse's military career played a significant role in his life, instilling in him values of discipline and integrity that he upheld throughout his life. He was recognized for his strong work ethic, compassion, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Jesse Parker was a man whose infectious laugh, warm hugs, and radiant presence lit up every room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Whether in the gym, in school hallways, or in the community, Jesse had a knack for brightening anyone's day. More than just a coach, Jesse was a mentor, a friend, and a beacon of positivity. His profound impact on those around him was evident, as many recall how his words or a simple hug could uplift them. Jesse had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued, always finding time to engage in conversation, even during his busiest moments. His ability to make you feel like the only person in the room, regardless of how many others were present, spoke volumes about his extraordinary character.

Basketball was Jesse's passion! Whether he was playing, watching, refereeing, or coaching, he was always involved in the sport. For over two decades, he coached youth basketball in the Antelope Valley, demonstrating his commitment to guiding young athletes. Professionally, he worked with students with various disabilities for 21 years, reflecting his dedication to education and inclusivity. He loved working with students, encouraging them to reach their full potential, a potential he saw in each one of them. Off the court, he enjoyed playing poker and spending time with his family and Cecil Richards, Wendell Brown, and Tylan McBride (brothers). 

Jesse is survived by his wife, Rachel Parker; children: Rayshell Parker, Charalotte Mosely (Demetric Mosely-spouse), Tristan Goodale, Isaac Schmitt, Victoria-Ashley Ely (Michael Ely- spouse), Matthew Schmitt, and Tyler Schmitt; grandchildren: Vivian Mosely, Camille Mosely, and Timothy Mosely; his mother, Vivian Brooks; sisters, Lina Byrd and Shanta Potter; in-laws, Ray and Barbara Goodale; brother and sister-in-laws: Ray Goodale Jr. (Anne-Spouse), Angela Diaz (Armondo Diaz-spouse), Jason Goodale (Mari-spouse), Aaron Goodale (Sarah-spouse), Julie Wyckhuyse, Brandon Goodale (Cecilia-Spouse), Brittney James (Matthew James-Spouse), and Jared Goodale (Sheyenne-spouse). He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Jesse was Proceded in death by Jesse E. Parker (Father), Daniel McCloe (Grandfather)and Mildred McCloe (Grandmother). Jesse's memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on August 31, 2024 at 1:30pm at Eastside High School, 3200 East Ave. J-8, Lancaster, CA. 93535.

He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
