Jesse Darryl Tate, age 83, passed away on July 6, 2025 in Ocean Springs.
Darryl was born and raised in Denham Springs, Louisiana.
He was a husband and soulmate since 1983 to his wife, Patti Tate, a brother to JL Tate (deceased), Ronnie Tate (deceased), Jerry Tate and Ted Tate. Darryl was also a father to Darryl Alan Tate of Georgia, Robert Darrin Tate (deceased), and Christina Ann Tate Munro of Scotland.
At eighteen years old, Darryl left Denham Springs and joined the United States Marine Corps. In his 20-year career he was stationed from the deserts of California to the jungles of Vietnam, and to the islands of Japan. In 1980, Darryl retired from the USMC as Master Sergeant. In 1988 Darryl and Patsy settled on the Gulf Coast to continue to enjoy traveling through cruises and road trips. With talent and joy in woodworking, Darryl made many pieces of furniture for their home and for gifts for the family. He also enjoyed growing a spring and fall garden, especially when it produced a bumper crop of veggies.
