Jesse Willis

Jesse Willis was born on Friday, November 14, 1952 in Talladega, Alabama to William and Pecie Willis.

Jesse was an active member of St. Campbell Missionary Baptist Church where he sang with the Male Chorus. Jesse found joy in lending his voice to create harmony and uplift the spirits of those around him. He attended Talladega County Central High School and he carried the spirit of his school wherever he went.

Jesse dedicated himself to a noble career in construction, working with the esteemed Labor Local 559. He spent his life embodying the values of hard work, dedication, and commitment to his community.

He was also passionate about fishing-a pastime that allowed him to appreciate the tranquility of nature and the simple pleasures of life. Known for his genuine love of conversation, Jesse never met a stranger and was always eager to share stories and wisdom with those fortunate enough to cross his path.

Jesse's life was enriched by the bonds of family and friendship. He is lovingly survived by his siblings: his sisters, Lucinda Willis, Ada Willis, and Zeola (Bruce) Moore, all of Alpine, Alabama; and his brother, Robert (Debra) Willis, of Talladega, Alabama; his sisters-in-law, Olivia Willis of Talladega, Alabama and Mary Jane Garrett of Alpine, Alabama. Jesse's memory will also be cherished by a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.

Jesse Willis, a cherished member of the Alpine, Alabama community, departed this life on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 73. Jesse was preceded in death by his love of 49 years, Clara Garrett; beloved parents, William and Pecie Willis; 3 sisters and 8 brothers. Though their loss was profoundly felt, he continued to honor their memory through his kindness, his work, and his unwavering faith.

Jesse's presence will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and community, who will forever cherish the moments spent in his company and the warmth of his enduring spirit.
