Jessica Fitzpatrick-Nash Obituary
Published by Legacy on Oct. 7, 2025.
Jessica Lyn Fitzpatrick-Nash, 26, of Highland Lakes, NJ passed away on October 4th, 2025, with the loving support of her family by her side. She was born on May 6, 1999, to Amy L. Fitzpatrick and Damian C. Fitzpatrick.
During her childhood, she was deeply committed to her time in Girl Scouts, eventually working her way to become a Leader's Assistant. Along with fostering an appreciation for drawing, painting and other visual arts, she enjoyed playing with her Easy-Bake oven, Barbie dolls, creating the most elaborate Sims world, and tearing up lawns with her 4-wheeler.
Later, during her teenage years, she was in the National Arts Honors Society, was president of The Art Club in Vernon Township High School, and she helped organize several blood drives. She treasured the time with her friends showing up to school early to hang out in the parking lot, blasting music in their cars and goofing around making silly videos. She and her best friend Leah were always laughing, finding joy in people watching, pushing it as far as they could with their teachers, or harassing Jess' little brother, Jeremy. She spent a summer in Arizona and fell in love with Tombstone and cacti. She also got and hated her first job at Discovery Years in Vernon.
Jess graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Cum Laude in 2021. When she wasn't busy sneaking Rob into her classes, she spent her free time driving her favorite pickup truck, fishing, hiking, and taking her dogs outside in nature. She served her community in many capacities, including Mac & Lindy's Fine Wine and Spirits in Vernon, an Optometrist's Assistant at Total Eyecare in Vernon and Branchville Eye Associates in Branchville.
Jess and Rob were engaged in front of Cinderella's Castle in Disney World and were married at their picture perfect winter wedding on Friday, December 13, 2024. She worked diligently to buy their first house which she was so excited host friends and family for holidays and good times. She had a flair for seasonal decorating and cooking amazing meals like her own recipe for the best shepherd's pie, as long as she didn't have to wash the dishes.
Jess was so happy living a simple life. So much joy was found in everyday things like snuggling under a blanket watching Disney Movies or the Sunday morning news while enjoying some mozzarella sticks or ice cream. If she put out her hand, she wanted you to hold it. If she was in the mood to go out, you'd likely find her at a country concert, getting a new tattoo, shopping at HomeGoods with a great cup of coffee, or smelling all the things at Bath and Body works. She'd also fill her time planning monthly celebration dinners where she and her friends would honor whatever good things happened to them in that month.
She prioritized her family in so many ways, always finding the time to be together whether it was a holiday having her favorite Christmas breakfast or dad's lasagna; or just because it was Tuesday and nobody had plans and we'd get together for some Chinese takeout, her favorite being red meat and brown noodles.
Celebrations were such a big part of her personality. Fall was her favorite season starting with the changing leaves and cooler temperatures, being the first one of the family at Spirit Halloween, apple picking, planning and preparing Thanksgiving dinner, and Baffamaffica shopping with her mom on Black Friday.
Jess was the best pet mom to her current rescues, Weston Ross, Ranger Danger, and Lincoln (Binky Boo). She had a huge heart and bottomless wallet when it came to all her animals; there were far too many to name.
Jess' surviving family members include Robert J. Nash, Husband, Amy L. Fitzpatrick, Mother, Damian C. Fitzpatrick, Father, Jeremy S. Fitzpatrick, Brother, Breanna E. Frasco, Sister-In-Law, as well as her enormous extended family, the best of friends, co-workers and so many others.
In lieu of flowers, blood donations in her honor or donations to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of Jess' life will be held in the near future.
