Joseph Dunlop Obituary
Joseph was a 2022 graduate of Vernon Township High School and a Boy Scout with Troop 912 in Vernon Township, NJ, obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He epitomized the Scout Law. While in high school, Joseph was a member of the National Honor Society, the Key Club, and Unified Club. He enjoyed scouting, attending school, being the student team manager of the Vernon Township High School Wrestling Team, reading and sharing about all things Harry Potter, and simply meeting and talking with people. Joseph participated in Special Olympics track and field, as well as their bocce programs. He was an avid New York Jets fan.
Joseph is the beloved son of Steven and Stephanie Dunlop of Vernon Twp., NJ. Dear brother of Steven B. Dunlop and his partner, Amber Crouch of Newton, NJ, Jeffrey D. Dunlop and his wife, Colleen of Vernon Twp., NJ and Jessica R. Beaver and her husband, Tomas of McGuire Air Force Base. Loving and proud uncle of Grace C. Dunlop and Dalton H. Beaver. Joseph also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joseph was a true Renaissance man. In both 2018 and 2019, Joseph was asked to be a Keynote Speaker at New Jersey's Dare to Dream Student Leadership Conferences. His ability to light up a room with his smile and his optimistic attitude that everything would be alright, as well as his joyous and incredible outlook on life made Joseph an inspiration to so many. Joseph was selfless; it was part of his nature. In true Dunlop fashion, he never met a stranger. Everyone was just a friend he hadn't met yet.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
