Jessie Mae Fleming, 95, of Lafayette, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Rosewalk Village in Lafayette.
Born on April 17, 1928, in Smithville, Tennessee, Jessie is the daughter of the late Jesse and Eva (Luna) Judkins. On January 4, 1947, in Rossville, Georgia, Jessie married Willie E. Fleming who preceded in death on May 25, 2009.
Jessie enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, bird watching and spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Surviving Jessie are three daughters, Brenda (Jim) Lilley of Lafayette; Jane Worman of Logansport; Lisa Fleming of Medina, OH; son, Jesse (Marie) Fleming of Medina, OH; brother, Frank Judkins of Tennessee; 9 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Daniel Fleming; daughter-in-law, Alicia (Vega) Fleming, granddaughter, Danielle Fleming; four sisters, Earlene Jeffries, Elsie White, Mary Adcock and Gloria Martin; five brothers, Lewis, John, Norvel, Harry and Hobert Judkins; son-in-law, Kenneth Worman.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Green officiating. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, also in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
