Jessie Uhlig Obituary

Jessie Uhlig, 44, of Southampton New Jersey passed away peacefully on September 11th after giving brain cancer one hell of a fight - twice. He didn't go quietly; he went with grit, stubbornness, and the same style he was known for: hat on, sunglasses nearby, sports on the tv or country music playing. Jessie was many things - a husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, cousin, uncle and friend - but he was also the guy who could make you laugh when you didn't want to. He knew everyone's birthdays, loved playing, watching and arguing about sports, was always routing for his Phillies and his Cowboys and enjoyed neighborhood bonfires. He lived life loudly, loved fiercely, and never passed up a chance to crack a joke-sometimes at your expense, but always with love. Jessie is survived by his loving wife, Charlene; his children, Brooklyn, Lillian, and DeAnna; grandson Kolter, his parents, Robert and Patricia Uhlig; his sister Katie (Barry) his cousin and confidant, Shawn (Katie), many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and his supportive group of loyal friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him-all of whom will keep his stories alive, even the ones he probably wouldn't want retold. Jessie may be gone, but his humor, his style, and his stubborn loyalty (to family, friends, and unfortunately, the Cowboys) will never be forgotten. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, September 20th from 10-11 AM at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt. Holly. Services will begin at 11 AM at the funeral home.
