Martinez Funeral Chapels - NogalesIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesus Jorge Ruiz, a cherished father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who left this world just shy of his ninetieth birthday on October 4, 2025, in Rio Rico, Arizona. Born on October 5, 1935, in Nogales Sonora, he blossomed into a remarkable man whose legacy will forever resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
Jesus was an eternal optimist, a tireless worker, and a devoted mentor, characteristics that defined both his personal and professional life. A proud graduate of Nogales High School, Class of 1955, and the University of Arizona, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1959, he embodied the spirit of perseverance and ambition. During his college years, he found joy and camaraderie on the baseball field, earning varsity letters throughout the late 1950s.
His career in the produce industry was marked by dedication and passion, leading him to become self-employed, a move that filled him with pride. Jesus inspired those around him through his unwavering work ethic and kindness, leaving a legacy that will not be forgotten. His influence extended beyond mere profession; he was a guiding light, instilling hope and motivation in many.
In his warm embrace, he fostered a loving family that reflects the values he cherished so deeply. Jesus is survived by his beloved sons, Jorge Martin "Chuchi" (Angie) Ruiz and Ariel Gerardo (Marcella) Ruiz, and his adored daughters, Georgina (Luis) Cardenas, Monica (Ricky) Maytorena, and Jessica (Miguel) Lopez. As a brother, he shared a special bond with Roberto Ruiz. He was the proud grandfather of twelve grandchildren: Luis, Jacqueline, Nicolas, Jordan, Andres, Isabella, Ricardo, Juan Pablo, Nicolas, William, Manuel, and Dominick, and he was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Luisito, Carolina, and Cecily.
In recognition of his life and the impact he made, family and friends are invited to gather in his memory. A Rosary service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nogales, Arizona, on October 31, 2025, at 1:30 PM, followed by a Mass at 2:00 PM. As we reflect on the joyous moments shared with Jesus Jorge Ruiz, we celebrate his remarkable journey, the love he cultivated, and the indelible mark he leaves behind. His spirit will forever inspire us to approach life with optimism and kindness.
