Mrs. Jewell Harpe Watson, age 83, entered into rest on Thursday March 7, 2024. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Maranatha Family Center by Pastor Allen Usher with burial to follow in the Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church. 

 

Mrs. Watson was born January 3, 1941 in Chesterfield, South Carolina a daughter of the late John Colon and Lois Polson Harpe. Jewell dedicated her life to serving others with a boundless heart and unwavering commitment. She possessed a rare kind of selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own and impacting the lives of many with her compassion and generosity. She was the heart and soul of our family, the glue that held us together through thick and thin. Jewell’s wisdom, strength, and unconditional love were the foundation upon which our family was built. Her presence was a constant source of stability and grace, guiding us through life’s challenges and celebrating its joys with us.  

 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watson was also preceded in death by her husband, Micheal E. “Gene” Watson Sr.; three brothers; two sisters; and great-granddaughter, Witten Rose Watson.

 

Survivors include her sons, Michael E. (Tammy) Watson, Jr. of Marion, SC, Thomas V (Vandy) Watson of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Michael Dallas (Allison) Watson of Charleston, SC, Troy Starr (Emily) Watson of Summerville, SC, Rachel Jeweleanne Watson of Rockingham, NC, and Brock David Watson of Lilesville, NC.
