Jewell Tomlin

Jewell Tomlin, age 91, of Fort Payne, AL, (formerly of LaFayette) went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2025. She was born on March 11, 1934, to the late Rufus Broyles and Lida Sabada Garner and grew up in LaFayette. She was one of the kindest and most selfless women one could ever know - witty, strong, and full of love that touched every life around her.
She raised a beautiful family, poured her heart into caring for others, and never missed a chance to share her faith. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren with everything she had. Her stories, her laughter, and her gentle spirit will stay with us forever. We'll miss her deeply, but we're grateful she's at peace in the arms of the Lord.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Tomlin; daughter, Debbie Tomlin; sisters, Dorine (Herman) Cushion and Shirley (Garles) Smothers; and a brother, Junior (Nellie) Broyles.
Jewell is survived by her children, Jimmy (Betty) Tomlin, Joyce Millard, Junior Tomlin, and Sandy (Bobby) Blalock; grandchildren, Tracy Tomlin, Lamar (Della) Battles, James (Kathy) Tomlin, Brian Blalock, Jeff Tomlin, Christy (Richard) Harrison, Carrie Tomlin, Amanda (Darrin) Smith, April (Lamar Dennison) Tomlin, Adam Tomlin, and Mark Wright; great grandchildren, Taylor Causey, Brennon Causey, Dustin Dennison, Jonathan Tomlin, Jesse Tomlin, Ethan (Sydney) Harrison, Hope Tomlin, Kaylee Tomlin, Faith Battles, Ally Smith, Emma Harrison, and Kaci Tomlin; six great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 24, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Bro. Johnny Stephens officiating.
Interment will take place at the LaFayette City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dustin Dennison, Lamar Dennison, Jeff Tomlin, Brennon Causey, Ethan Harrison, and Richard Harrison.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 12 p.m. to the hour of service at the funeral home.
Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to be forwarded to the family.
