Jill Rosenheim Hurwitz, 71. Beloved wife of Joel Hurwitz for 42 years, devoted mother of Jackie (Jacob) Baskin and Michael (Sharona) Hurwitz; adored and adoring grandmother of Lucy; loving daughter of John and Audrey Rosenheim; treasured sister of Nancy Lu Rosenheim (David Fisk), Julie Rosenheim (David Finch), Gail (Ron) Gurewitz, and David (Jackie) Rosenheim; cherished aunt to 11 nieces and nephews, cousin, and friend of many. Jill's family would like to thank her doctors and caregivers for their dedication and compassion. Jill graduated from Highland Park High School, Skidmore College, and the School for International Training in Vermont. Jill loved exploring the world, having served three years in the United States Peace Corps in West Africa, lived in Brazil for a year, and traveled widely throughout her life. Through her many interests, including ceramic art, painting, teaching, nature, and bridge, her special warmth always shone through and touched the many people and animals who had the good luck to cross her path. She adopted and raised many pets throughout the years, and always kept the birds well fed around her homes in Highland Park and Tucson, AZ. Her care for her nieces, nephews, and grandchild was marked by a curiosity and tolerance that made her a favorite among so many. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
