Jill Diane Kitta

Jill Diane Kitta, 73, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Friday,
October 17, 2025 at her home.
The beloved wife of Michael Kitta for 47 years; cherished mother of Todd Kitta, Sara
(Josh) Maschmidt and Eric Kitta; dear sister of Lynn (Dennis) Ochs and sister-in-law of
Tina Thompson; treasured Nana of Michael, Scarlett, Dallis, Bella, Roman, Gianna,
Lucia, Atticus and Clark. Jill was preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Kathryn
Haynes (nee Hagan), her brother, Donald Thompson, and her niece and goddaughter
Kathryn McBride.
Jill worked for 24 years at Sodexo Food Service and also as a clerk in the Small
Business Administration and for the Secret Service. Jill spent much of her time enjoying
a good book, playing bingo, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and being with her
children and grandchildren. She and Michael are active parishioners at St. Joseph
Catholic Church in Cottleville where Jill could often be found caring for children in the
nursery, after school care, working the playground and PSR.
Jill was also known for her sense of humor which never wavered even until the last days
of her life in hospice.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral & Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St. Charles 63304.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at St. Joseph Parish, 1355 Motherhead Rd., Cottleville 63304.
Interment: Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the American Cancer Society.
