Jim Atkisson passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2026. Jim was a local businessman in Pearl, Mississippi, for over 50 years as the owner of Bob’s Pool Service, Inc. He was an avid collector car enthusiast, a member of many local car clubs, and cherished the friendships he formed with fellow car collectors.
Jim was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family at gatherings and valued those moments deeply. Jim was loved and respected by many dear friends who will miss him greatly but remember him always in their hearts.
Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Karen; his children, Holly Gilmer and Sheri Brown (Neely); six grandchildren, Morgan Williams (Ethan), Hannah Derden, Porter Derden, Julia Gilmer, James Gilmer, and Joshua Gilmer; and his great-granddaughter, Emma Williams.
Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home on Monday, January 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the service to follow. A military graveside service will be held immediately afterward at Floral Hills Cemetery, Highway 80 East, Pearl, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
